Pastel Nightmare Before Christmas Wedding Cake

nightmare-before-christmas-pastel-wedding-cake

I have been so looking forward to sharing Lora andCarla‘s wedding cake with you all from their beautiful wedding last Sunday at Ringwood Hall Hotel

When I met the couple 2 years ago they said, right we have a challenge for you, I thought it might be the eiffel tower… turns out they had bigger plans!(well, maybe not bigger buuuut…) The list was Nightmare Before Christmas, pastel themed in blush pink and dove grey, with pumpkins, a wonky top tier, a sparkly snow covered hill and Jack and Sally figures! Hopefully I pulled it off! Each tier is handpainted, swirls on the base, graveyard, trees and bats on the next tier up, swirls and the famous quote from the film “For it is plain, as anyone can see, we are simply meant to be” and the painted top bit of the graveyard gate on the top tier.
There was also a large sugar moon but I didn’t get chance to photograph it in situ at the venue so I’m looking forward to seeing Carla and Lora’s official pics!

Tiers of red velvet, lemon & lime, madagascan vanilla and chocolate mud.

Thanks for the crazy fun challenge girls! I hope you had the best day ever.

Massive big huge shout out (do people still say that!?..shout out?!) to Tracey Rothwell of the amazingly incredible Little Cherry Cake Company and Black Cherry Cake Company, Tracey creates amazing alternative wedding cakes all the time and was so helpful giving me guidance, advice and reassurance, and I couldn’t have done it without very heavy inspiration from her designs! Thanks lovely.xx

Surprise Wedding Cake

How excited am I today to share Claire and Zac’s wedding cake from yesterday at The Farmhouse at Mackworth (also because it means I can finally breathe again after having to not say a word about this secret for 7 months!!)

It was a complete SURPRISE wedding to all their friends and family who thought they were attending a birthday party and didn’t even know the couple were engaged! The shock amazement faces thatCamera Hannah captured are priceless, pop onto her page to see!

The couple wanted a fun, unique and creative wedding cake (that could also not give the game away when party guests first arrived!) we came up with this amazing design which gradients from the aubergine shades in Claire’s dress up to the powder blue tones of Zac’s suit. Colourful peacock shades for the bubbles that rose up around the cake and a few bits of sugar lego to tie in with their centre pieces and the topper for the cheese cake. Topper bespoke made by Miss Cake who is fab.

Tiers of madagascan vanilla, zesty lemon & lime and strawberry & champagne. They also had cupcakes and cake pops to accompany the cake 🙂Hope you both had the best day ever and I am so so excited to see the video highlights from Hannah. Thank you for being so lovely to work with and choosing such a unique cake to create 🙂 xx

Gradiented Starry Night New York Wedding Cake

Next up from yesterday at Fox And Goose is the lovely Jenny and Matt’s wedding cake which is also an amazingly unique and creative wedding cake design. I love how creative my brides are 🙂

Jenny had quite a clear vision when she first contacted me of how her dream wedding cake would look and I brought it to life for them both 🙂Gradiented wedding cake in purple to navy to fit in with the couple’s colour scheme. The bottom tier is a hand cut silhouette of the New York city skyline (with a cheeky little batman logo on it too, because why not!) middle tier has hand cut silhouettes of dancing couples as that’s where the couple met and the top tier representing a starry night sky.

Tiers of red velvet, strawberry & champagne and salted caramel.
I hope you both had the most amazing day, the tipi was gorgeous and the wedding breakfast room looked beautiful; I can’t wait to see your cutting of the cake photos 🙂 xx

Lavender and Rosemary Rustic Wedding Cake

This cake smelt amazing and I have been so looking forward to sharing pictures of it with you all – Dinah and Wai-Lee’s rustic buttercream and lavender wedding cake at Ashover Parish Hall Events Centre on Saturday.

Tiers of chocolate mud, zesty lemon & lime and rich brandied fruit cake. Buttercream iced tiers with fresh lavender from Chatsworth and hand picked by me in France! Set up on one of my lovely rustic wood chunk cake stands, with a cute clay dog topper that the couple can save as a keepsake from their big day. I love the elegant simplicity of this design incorporated with the rustic charm of a buttercreamed wedding cake.
I hope you both had the best day ever and I can’t wait to see photos xx
