Elegant Lace and Pearl Wedding Cake

Good evening cake lovers! Happy Wednesday!.. If tonight’s beautiful cake photo share from the lovely Jenna and Matt’s wedding at Ringwood Hall Hotellast Saturday doesn’t get you over ‘hump day’ then nothing will!

I always absolutely love how elegant, timelessly sophisticated and stunning an all in ivory wedding cake looks and this beautiful cake design that Jenna, Matt and I came up with for their wedding on Saturday is no exception.

3 tiers in my classic Lace and Pearls design, with a side posy of ivory sugar roses and filler flowers, a large ivory bow with a diamante and pearl brooch to the side and a sparkly diamante and pearl “M&J” topper that the couple can keep. (They did actually have a navy ribbon around the board to tie in the bridesmaids colours, but I only clocked that on their notes after I’d taken the photos! A lovely subtle nod to the colour scheme without detracting from the design)

Tiers of salted caramel, chocolate mud and madagascan vanilla.

Can’t wait to see the professional shots from the day, cutting of the cake and Jenna’s beautiful dress from my buddies at Gracie Bleu Bridal xx

Pastel Nightmare Before Christmas Wedding Cake

nightmare-before-christmas-pastel-wedding-cake

I have been so looking forward to sharing Lora andCarla‘s wedding cake with you all from their beautiful wedding last Sunday at Ringwood Hall Hotel

When I met the couple 2 years ago they said, right we have a challenge for you, I thought it might be the eiffel tower… turns out they had bigger plans!(well, maybe not bigger buuuut…) The list was Nightmare Before Christmas, pastel themed in blush pink and dove grey, with pumpkins, a wonky top tier, a sparkly snow covered hill and Jack and Sally figures! Hopefully I pulled it off! Each tier is handpainted, swirls on the base, graveyard, trees and bats on the next tier up, swirls and the famous quote from the film “For it is plain, as anyone can see, we are simply meant to be” and the painted top bit of the graveyard gate on the top tier.
There was also a large sugar moon but I didn’t get chance to photograph it in situ at the venue so I’m looking forward to seeing Carla and Lora’s official pics!

Tiers of red velvet, lemon & lime, madagascan vanilla and chocolate mud.

Thanks for the crazy fun challenge girls! I hope you had the best day ever.

Massive big huge shout out (do people still say that!?..shout out?!) to Tracey Rothwell of the amazingly incredible Little Cherry Cake Company and Black Cherry Cake Company, Tracey creates amazing alternative wedding cakes all the time and was so helpful giving me guidance, advice and reassurance, and I couldn’t have done it without very heavy inspiration from her designs! Thanks lovely.xx
